About the Journal

Ukrainian Political and Legal Discourse is an academic peer-reviewed open-access electronic journal.

The journal was founded in 2024 by the International Classical University named after Pylyp Orlyk.

Journal Status

In 2024, the journal was granted Category "B" in legal sciences (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 1415 dated 2 October 2024) and Category "B" in political sciences (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 1721 dated 10 December 2024). In 2026, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine updated the List of Scientific Professional Publications of Ukraine in accordance with Order No. 56 dated 19 January 2026. The journal did not participate in the update of the List and is therefore not currently included in its current edition. The editorial board plans to apply for Category "B" in the next cycle of List formation. The journal continues to operate as a peer-reviewed open-access publication; authors are kindly requested to take the journal's current status into account when planning their publications. Mission

The journal exists to promote the development of scholarly research, disseminate knowledge, and facilitate the exchange of ideas among researchers, practitioners, and students in the fields of politics and law.

Aims and Scope

Ukrainian Political and Legal Discourse is an interdisciplinary journal at the intersection of legal and political sciences. We publish articles in the following subject areas: law, political science, public administration, constitutional law, international law, legal policy, and related fields.

Selection Criteria

The journal accepts original articles that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere, provided they correspond to the aims and requirements of the journal. Articles may be applied, theoretical, or review in nature. All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review procedure.

Publishing Transparency and Quality Control Policy

All information published on the journal's website — regarding the composition of the editorial board, peer review procedures, editorial policies, and the journal's actual indexing in scientometric databases — is complete, accurate, and verifiable.

No more than one article by the same author or co-author may be published in a single issue of the journal. Any additional articles by the same author are transferred to the following issue.

Publication Schedule

From August 2026, the journal is published quarterly — four issues per year. The transition to a quarterly schedule enables the editorial board to strengthen the peer review procedure and the quality control of each issue.

Open Access and Licensing

The journal is an open-access publication: all published materials are available to readers without subscription or registration immediately upon release. All content is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0).
