Abstract

The article examines the influence of international organisations on the formation of Ukraine's domestic policy in the context of globalisation and current security challenges. The author analyses their role in harmonising national legislation with international standards, adapting state policy to the challenges of war, post-war reconstruction and ensuring national sovereignty.

To achieve the research objectives, a systematic approach was used, which allowed to consider the influence of international organisations as a complex phenomenon. The methods of analysis and synthesis helped to identify the main trends and problems of law-making processes, the comparative method allowed to assess the specifics of implementation of international norms in the legal systems of different States, and the historical and legal analysis helped to identify patterns in the development of Ukraine's cooperation with international institutions.

The article analyses international organisations, in particular the UN, EU, NATO and OSCE, and proves that they have a significant impact on the legal environment of Ukraine, promoting the rule of law, human rights protection and reforms in key areas. Particular attention is paid to the EU4Justice and Association4U programmes and NATO's support for defence sector transformation. The study identifies both positive changes and problems related to the adaptation of international standards, including insufficient integration of legal norms in wartime, difficulties in civilian control over the military, and the need to align reforms with the real needs of society.

The study emphasises the importance of close cooperation between international organisations and Ukrainian state authorities to ensure effective integration of international standards into the national legal system, taking into account the strategic interests of the state. The role of international support in the areas of security, justice and democratic development is also considered. The full-scale war in Ukraine has become a catalyst for intensive legal changes, but significant challenges remain in terms of adapting legislation, improving mechanisms of civilian control and ensuring democratic principles in times of crisis.

The results of the study are of practical importance for further improvement of the legal system of Ukraine, in particular, by optimising law-making processes, strengthening compliance with international standards, expanding cooperation with international partners and implementing the best international practices in public administration.
