Abstract

In the current context of globalization, media have become essential instruments through which countries shape and project their political image, which in turn has a direct impact on their foreign policy and economic situation. International media play a significant role in constructing a country's image on the global stage, as they influence the perception of its politics, reforms, social and economic achievements, or challenges. The aim of this study is to conduct a detailed analysis of the influence of international media on the perception of Ukraine in the global political space, as well as to examine the factors that determine the nature of this influence. The research focuses on how different international media platforms ˗ particularly Western, Russian, and other global outlets ˗ portray events in Ukraine and how this affects political attitudes and public opinion outside the country. The study applies methods such as content analysis of news coverage, comparative analysis of various media platforms, and the examination of sociological research, which enables the identification of trends and shifts in the global perception of Ukraine. Results. The main findings of the study suggest that international media significantly influence the formation of Ukraine’s political image, especially in the context of military conflicts, internal political instability, economic issues, and reform processes. Positive coverage of Ukraine in international media largely depends on the success of reforms, political stability, and foreign policy aimed at integration into European structures such as the European Union and NATO. The research also highlights the importance of a comprehensive international information policy aimed at shaping a positive image of the country and addressing negative stereotypes. Within the scope of the study, it is proposed to strengthen Ukraine’s international media strategy by increasing its engagement in global information campaigns and enhancing cooperation with leading international media outlets in order to promote a more objective perception of the situation in the country. The conclusions of the study confirm the feasibility of implementing strategic management of Ukraine's media image abroad. The effective implementation of such an approach should be based on the institutional support of a coordinated external communication policy, the development of segmented information campaigns focused on the specifics of the target audience, as well as on systematic monitoring and assessment of the impact of media content on the international perception of Ukraine. The prospects for further research are to develop methodological tools for quantitative and qualitative analysis of the effectiveness of information and communication strategies in the context of the state's foreign policy.
